The darkest color you can perceive without contrast is called Eigengrau

I don’t know how I ended up on Eigengrau. Few things I learned:

• Eigengrau is the name of the color you see when you close your eyes
• Your can only see black if there is white contrast
• The sky is darker than Eigengrau but lighter than black because of the stars being lighter
